Electronic Arts Inc. has announced it has entered into a joint venture with Nettwerk One Music to form the new full-service music company, Artwerk.
Artwerk also announced it has signed artist producer – Junkie XL, whose tracks recently appeared in the top-selling games, Madden NFL 07 and Need for Speed Carbon.
Junkie XL commented on signing with Artwerk, "Both EA and Nettwerk are artist friendly, progressive thinking companies who embrace and don't fear the future. I feel understood as an artist and at ease with the people from both companies, which is most important to me. I can’t wait to release my new music through 'Artwerk.'"

JXL IN DUTCH BOOK

Famous Dutch writer and jounalist Jan Colijn recently completed a book called "Sex Drugs en een Shitpiano". The book is already receiving great reviews, where Dutch musicians describe stories about their touring experiences.
Great backstage stories, encounters with other musicians and other real-life tales make for a compelling read. Tom from Junkie XL is included in the book, describing his experiences in former communist eastern Europe in the 1980's when the wall was still up.
The book is available in stores now.
JXL KICKS IT WITH SPOTS FOR ADIDAS

Junkie XL has recently worked on 10, 30 and 60 seconds spots for Adidas Soccer.
Adidas is going big with their new global soccer campaigns, and turned to Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) to create extreme sounds for these new spots.
The "Impossible Field" commercials capture the rigors and demands of soccer; the motion of the players, the ball and the ambience of the field itself are amazingly shot and edited. The explosive, deep and sharp sounds and music created by Junkie XL beautifully match the sparse yet stunning suspended field.

"TODAY" RELEASE PARTY A HUGE SUCCESS

On Tuesday April 18th, the Junkie XL release party took place in Hollywood, California. It was done together with RES (a leading-edge media entertainment company know for its RESFEST festival) and Ultra Records. The new Junkie XL video was shown during the April RES screening, and imediately after the Release party took place in the Egyptian Theater's courtyard. It was a fantastic celebration with family and friends!
JXL SCORING "DEAD OR ALIVE" FILM

Holkenborg is working on the upcoming film Dead Or Alive that's based on the video game of the same name. "The music is almost like a very new version of what the old scores were for James Bond movies and Mission Impossible," says Tom. "It has really strong themes and cool use of guitars, sound and orchestral stuff." Dead Or Alive is a Constantine Film Produktion with Impact Films, known for the Resident Evil and Fantastic Four movies.
JXL REMIXES COLDPLAY

Junkie XL has recently completed remixing the new Coldplay single "Talk". Coldplay has solicited very few remixes, and Tom is honored that Coldplay came to Junkie XL for this remix project. "Talk" is the second single from the album X&Y which is being released through out the world at the moment. To supplement the Junkie XL mix, another mix on the upcoming 12" is from New York's finest: Francois K.

JXL REMIXES NIYAZ

Junkie XL recently completed a remix for the world music band Niyaz, remixing the song "dilruba" from their latest self-titled release "Niyaz".
Tom has also been busy contributing elsewhere - being signed to Roadrunner Records, Junkie XL also contributed to the Roadrunner United "The All Star Sessions" album, which celebrates the 25 year anniversary of the label.
He contributed to the track "No Way Out" which was written by Joey Jordison (Slipknot) and Daryl Palumbo (New York hardcore band Glassjaw). Junkie XL co-wrote on the track, did the additional production and also mixed it.

JUNKIE XL GOES ROCK FOR FORZA MOTORSPORT

For the past year, producer JUNKIE XL has been in the studio working on music for Xbox's hot new racing simulator Forza Motorsport, due out May 3, 2005. For the highly anticipated game, JUNKIE XL (a.k.a. Tom Holkenborg) wrote and produced 56 pieces of original score influenced by 1970's dark guitar rock. Fireball Ministry's James A. Rota and Logan Mader, formerly of Machinehead and Soulfly, lend their guitar skills to his work as guest performers.
